Filtco uses carefully sourced, high-quality activated carbon.
Filtco filter casings are made from reinforced thermoplastic, providing strength, chemical resistance, and impact durability in a lightweight design. Their chambered construction prevents the carbon from shifting. This ensures uniform media distribution and maintains the structural integrity of the filter.
Each filter is tightly packed with activated carbon to prevent settling during shipment and use.
Filtco models that include pre-filters (particle or HEPA filters) come with no additional assembly. See Manufacturers Filter Types below for more details. The assembled carbon filter, with attached pre-filter (if applicable), is then packed into a heat sealed plastic bag and durable box for shipping.

Proper filter maintenance is essential to ensure safe operation and peak performance. All activated carbon filters have a limited capacity to adsorb hazardous vapors. Once that capacity is reached, filters must be replaced.
Always follow the replacement intervals specified by your ductless fume hood manufacturer. Delayed replacement can result in exposure to harmful vapors—even from commonly used chemicals.
